Daytime Cooling Centres

The Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex is your designated Cooling Centre during periods of extreme heat warnings.

Daily: 6:00 am - 11:00 pm (while heat alert is in effect)

Leashed pets/pets in carriers are welcome, providing they are well-controlled by their owner. Extra seating and water will be available in the lobby.

Daytime Warming Centres

During winter months, the City of Pickering will activate warming centres during Extreme Cold Weather Alerts.

Emergency overnight shelter will be provided at Peace Lutheran Church with services by DARS.
