  • Notice of Public Open House, March 18, 2025

    February 18, 2025 - The City has received applications for an Official Plan Amendment (OPA 24-003/P) and a Zoning By-law Amendment (A 05/24), submitted by 705 Kingston Road Ltd. The subject lands are located at the southeast corner of Kingston Road and Whites Road, known as the Whites Road Shopping Centre located at 705 Kingston Road. Under the Planning Act, any person may submit an application for development to be considered by City Council. City Council has not yet considered these applications.

  • Winter Weather Event

    A winter storm event is forecasted to start at approximately 12:00 pm on February 15th, with snowfall continuing until the late evening of February 16th. It is estimated that Pickering will receive up to 20-25 cm of accumulation throughout this duration. See winter weather notice for helpful resources and reminders and service impacts.

  • Notice of Special Council Meeting - Official Plan Review

    The City of Pickering is holding a Special Council Meeting to initiate a review of its Official Plan. This is the beginning of a multi-year project, Pickering Forward, that will help shape the growth of Pickering to 2051.

    The public meeting will provide interested parties the ability to learn more about the Official Plan review process and provide opinions about the types of changes to the Official Plan that may be needed. 

  • Share your input on the emerging plans for Northeast Pickering

    The City is undertaking a Secondary Plan for a new community in Pickering, that covers over 1,600 hectares of land. The purpose of the Secondary Plan is to guide the significant residential and business growth anticipated for this area.

  • Notice of Completion: Walnut Lane Extension - Kingston Road to Liverpool Road - Municipal Class Environmental Assessment

    The City of Pickering (City) has completed a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) study to extend Walnut Lane from the section presently constructed south of Kingston Road, eastward to Liverpool Road (see map). The extension is required to service existing, approved and proposed development in the City Centre and Liverpool neighbourhoods and will accommodate all road users (vehicles, public transit, cyclists and pedestrians). The preferred solution is a central alignment for the Walnut Lane extension and a minimum 36 metre clear span.
