Curiosity

About the Artwork

Curiosity is an art piece by the artist Hallie A. Ndorley, depicting a curious child lying on their stomach, gazing upon a turtle. This visual art mural was commissioned by the City of Pickering and the Cultural Advisory Committee, to celebrate Black Culture and local Black Artists.

“Curiosity - I chose these images because of what going on around the world right now. Children despite the global epidemic always find a space to play and have fun. I desired to illustrate kids because in the world of a child, there is quiet peace no matter what the adult world thinks. Children find a space to play, have fun explore their curiosity and just be kids. They are authentic, vulnerable and they enjoy the laughter, tears and pure joy. I was thinking of our community seeing the world in the eyes of a kids. Let’s see the world as it should be.”
