Beachfront Park & Millennium Square

Beachfront Park rests on the north shore of Lake Ontario and can be accessed from the southern end of Liverpool Road or Alex Robertson Park at the southern end of Sandy Beach Road. View the location.

Acting as a protecting barrier, separating Hydro Marsh to the north, from Lake Ontario to the south, this beach offers a truly unique experience for any visitor.

Enjoy the natural beauty of the wetlands. The marsh provides great bird watching and fishing opportunities with common sightings of herons, terns and shorebirds.

The City is moving forward with reconstruction of Beachfront Park

Phase 1 of the City’s Beachfront Park Revitalization is complete.

Following extensive damage from flooding and storms in 2017 and 2019 - including the complete loss of the Waterfront Trail boardwalk – crews have been hard at work bringing this cherished community space back to life.

Look for these exciting new features:

  • An elevated walking & cycling path
  • Scenic viewing platforms overlooking Hydro Marsh
  • Shoreline protection enhancements
  • Barrier-free beach access ramps
  • Construction of a gravel parking lot in Alex Robertson Park (accessible via Sandy Beach Road), offering direct access to the waterfront trail.
