- Place on private property, using the provided wire stake, with the consent of the property owner
- Within the Campaign Period of April 1 – November 30; after which the signs must be removed by the installer
Slow Down Campaign
You can help remind the public to slow down and be aware of children at play by displaying a “Slow Down” lawn sign on your property from April 1 to November 30.
These signs can be placed on your property, and remind road users to drive carefully, and slow down when travelling on residential streets.

Where can’t the sign be placed?
- Within the travelled portion of a roadway, boulevard, medians, traffic island, sidewalk, bicycle path, multi-use path or trail
- Within a drainage ditch, on fences, on trees, or on streetlight or hydro poles
- Within 3 metres of a fire hydrant
- Anywhere the signs will create a sightline obstruction for pedestrians, cyclists, or motorists
Number of signs allowed per household
One lawn sign per residence is allowed. City staff may remove any additional signs displayed, and may remove or relocate any signs that are considered to be in violation of the above conditions.
