Revised Proposal (submitted September 2024)

In September of 2024, the applicant submitted a revised application for Zoning By-law Amendment for a portion of the Durham Live Lands, having an area of approximately 5.3 hectares. The applicant is proposing to rezone these lands from “Urban Reserve Zone” to a “Major Tourist Destination Zone” category to permit various tourism, commercial, and employment uses (the applicant's submitted plan).

Original Proposal (submitted March 2020)

The purpose of the subject application is to rezone the land currently zoned “UR”, east of Squires Beach Road, to extend the current MTD (H-3) zone boundary to within approximately 30 metres of the significant natural features on the property, and to rezone the remaining UR lands east of Squires Beach Road to NHS (Natural Heritage System).
