December 11, 2024 - The City of Pickering is proud to announce that Marisa Carpino, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), has been named by Municipal World as its inaugural CAO of the Year. This prestigious, national award recognizes Marisa’s exemplary leadership, innovation, and unwavering commitment to building a vibrant, inclusive, connected, and sustainable city.
Proposal
The purpose of this application is to amend certain zoning standards to allow for the development of a commercial plaza with eight buildings, which may include a grocery store, pharmacy, banks, restaurants, personal services and other service-related uses.

Crimson Inflorescence is a new permanent public artwork by Linfeng Zhou installed on eleven light posts (11) in Esplanade Park in Pickering.

Migizi (Bald Eagle) Saves The World is a new temporary public artwork by Nyle Miigizi Johnston to be installed on the balcony (facing Esplanade Park) of City Hall. The work is to be unveiled on November 15, 2024, as part of Winter Nights, City Lights 2024 and it will remain on site until January 31, 2025. This work is funded by Ontario Power Generation (OPG).
October 2, 2024 – The City of Pickering invites community members to learn about the proposed concept designs for the Seaton Recreation Complex & Library and vote on their favourite.
