Proposal
Kindred Works on behalf of the United Church of Canada has submitted applications for an Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment to facilitate a residential development consisting of 33 stacked townhouse dwelling units and 8 townhouse dwelling. Dwelling units will be contained within 4 separate building blocks proposed to be 3-storeys in height. The 41 dwelling units are proposed to be retained by the property owner and be rental tenure, with 30% of the units (approximately 13 units) targeted to be affordable at 80% of the Median Market Rent per the Canadian Mortgage Housing Corporation National Housing Co-Investment Fund criteria.
A portion of the existing church, constructed in approximately 1877, is proposed to be retained in its current location, while the balance of the existing building and surface parking area is proposed to be demolished to provide for the development. The retained portion of the existing church is proposed to be used for a place of worship and day nursery.
A total of 50 parking spaces are proposed to support to the proposed development with 36 spaces being devoted to residents, 6 spaces for residential visitors and 10 spaces to support the place of worship and day nursery. The proposed development will be accessed from an internal private road and Dunbarton Road.
